Hireco engaged Nimbus in 2012 and our initial engagement involved a full audit of all IT systems, business functions and create a road-map to achieve current growth plans across all UK and Ireland sites. The first step in our solution was to replace and upgrade all existing Firewalls and Network Switches across all sites. Our bespoke solution included the installation of Next Generation Firewalls which, along with undertaking an overhaul of the VPN (“Virtual Private Network”) allowed all sites to connect together securely via a WAN (“Wide Area Network”) whilst also enabling staff to work remotely. The implementation of our HP Managed Switch solution has increased the speed and capacity on the network while offering the ability to monitor all network traffic from a centralised cloud portal.
Nimbus identified that all sites needed an overhaul of internet connectivity and by partnering up with an ISP, we project managed the installation of dedicated leased lines between all UK & Ireland sites.
The investment has demonstrated efficiencies to Hireco from the early stages by increased speed and performance, cutting back on staff travel costs, duplication across different departments and a reduction in downtime for staff working remotely.
Like many businesses, Hireco are reliant on core applications, company files, folders and email across all sites and users, therefore needed an IT environment that is responsive, secure and accessible from any location and anytime.
After in depth due diligence we designed a modern IT infrastructure solution that would transform their daily operations and allow them to realise their growth ambitions. By consolidating some physical Windows servers and implementing a full VMWare solution based on HP server infrastructure we virtualised their Windows & Linux servers which reduced the need for expensive hardware.
As part of the migration Nimbus implemented a RDS (Remote Desktop Server) solution which allowed users access to all core applications and data from any location or device by using a secure VPN connection.
We tailored Office365 to suit the needs of their business, guiding them on a smooth migration. By deploying a Hybrid solution, RDS for Applications and Office365 for email, files and folders in the cloud, along with all the benefits that come with Azure and Teams, Hireco have been able to maximise the benefits of each for their business, enabling a more flexible and agile operation.
